Thanksgiving is a Time of Gratitude and Reflection
November 24, 2009

As our family prepares to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends, I wanted to send you a note to wish each of you and your families a safe and wonderful holiday.

Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude and reflection – an opportunity to be thankful for our continued health, happiness and security, and share with our neighbors the many gifts with which we’ve been blessed.

Thanksgiving is also an occasion to honor those who have served our country so admirably, and thank those who continue to protect our lives and liberty today. As we enjoy this holiday season together with our loved ones, we should take a moment to reflect upon the servicemen and women who will be spending their Thanksgiving away from home. These are the men and women who continue to make the kinds of sacrifices that ensure our continued safety and freedom.

The Lord has truly blessed us all and Thanksgiving is a time to remember that each day brings new and untold blessings. As I am every year, I’m thankful for the health and well being of my family, the support of dear friends like you and the privilege to call myself an American.

I’d love to hear what you are thankful for this Thanksgiving season. Feel free to share your thoughts by commenting below.

  8. Amarilis Vazquez says:

    Dear Mr.Putnam.
There are many things for which we can be thankful, but there are two specifics ones which I want to express. First, for this country- it’s democratic government and capitalistic economy, and second, for representatives in the government, like yourself, who are conservative and God-fearing. I have a feeling that you are going to go a long way…I’m praying that one day YOU will become President of the United States (do I hear an “amen” from your constituents?). God bless you and yours and may his arm of protection surround your loved ones and your property.

We lost a son in Desert Storm March 2,1991.
We are so proud of him but feel now he died
    in vain..
    God Bless America

  10. Donna Clark says:

I am thankful for the people that still care about other people and are not selfish. so many times, I am at the store and I see people getting frustrated at me because I am in the way they are in a hurry, they want me to hurry, yet they won’t assist me. they will stand and watch me unhook the wheel chair and lift up to get the item I need.
the lady I was talking to while in the checkout, at first she thought I was scratching my back and then when she seen me finely get the backet off of the back of the wheel, she ask if I needed anything else and I said no I am use to this. I am fine. I said what people don’t realize and how wonderful life is and what a blessing it is to be alive, I said when I go to sleep at night I am hooked to a machine and when I get up in the morning and turn that coffee pot, their is nothing like the smell of fresh coffee, that means I have been given one more day, the couple of lady’s standing their said many people don’t understand that.
at the end of the day what really matters, people have become so selfish and concerned about them selves that they actually for get to care about other people. I am thankful God Made me the way I am. Happy Thankgiving
Just one act of kindness could change someone day

I am thankful that we are still free in the United States. I am thankful that you stand up for God and country and I agree with Amarilis that you will one day be President. Maybe Sarah Palin can be your Vice President. God bless you and watch over you and your sweet family.

I am thankful that God continues to shine His love and light on His children as only a Father can do, unconditionally. I am thankful to have the honor to be a wife and a mother striving daily to shape the destiny of our future generations. Daily, I’m humbled by the wealth of joy that family and friends bring into our lives. So very thankful to be born in America the land of free and the home of the brave that continues to believe in One Nation under God :) .

THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE SOME THINGS THAT I AM GRATEFUL FOR. (THERE ARE SO MANY – I CANNOT LIST THEM ALL). I AM SO GLAD FOR OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, I AM READING A BOOK ABOUT ROGER WILLIAMS (THE FOUNDER OF RHODE ISLAND) AND NEVER REALIZED HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS AND HOW MUCH WE,IN AMERICA TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. I AM ALSO GRATEFUL FOR OUR RELATIVE SAFETY AND FOR THOSE WHO WORK AND SERVE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. I HAVE HAD SOME SAD THINGS IN MY LIFE BUT I AM SO GLAD THAT I HAVE A SAVIOUR (JESUS) WHO IS ALSO MY BEST FRIEND AND FOR THE HEAVENLY HOME HE IS PREPARING FOR ALL THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM. MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ADAM PUTNAM!
