Every bite of food we'll eat today is because a farmer or rancher woke up before dawn, put on his boots and got to work.

Florida's farmers are among the hardest working and most productive in the world. Florida's 48,000 farms and ranches produce 300 different commodities and add $120 billion annually to Florida's economy.

Every time we chop, boil, barbecue or bake, there is a farmer to thank for the meal that results.

As a small show of support, I hope you will join me today in signing our thank you card to Florida's farmers and ranchers.

I simply understand the reason why my family have such a variety of foods, drinks and high-nutrition is due to our farmers.

Without you we would not have these delicious homegrown vegetables at our market. Thank for your getting the chickens up in the morning and your hard work in field.

I support small businesses. I love knowning where my food comes from. Without our farmers the major corporations will take over more than what they already are.

Farmers are our true lifelines. They provide the foundation for nourishing our bodies and our minds. They persevere over great odds in this day and age-the climate/weather, urban sprawl, dis-respect for the land, price competition, etc., —are all barriers they have to deal with. We should thank them every day for all they do and work hard to ensure our farmers are around for future generations.
