Putnam garners support from Florida builders
BARTOW, Fla. – Associated Builders & Contractors of Florida, Inc. (ABC) has announced their official endorsement of Adam Putnam for Commissioner of Agriculture. ABC is Florida’s largest merit shop commercial construction trade association. ABC represents over 2,500 companies and its members employ more than 200,000 Floridians.
“ABC stands for free enterprise, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility. It is evident Congressman Putnam shares our philosophy,” said ABC of Florida Chairman, Gary Stout. “We are very excited to support such a proven candidate for such an important position.”
“It is an honor to me, and a great boost to my campaign, to have the support of an organization as strong and influential as the Associated Builders & Contractors of Florida,” said Congressman Adam Putnam. “Commercial construction is so much more than towering cranes and skylines. The truth is, commercial construction is a vital economic artery for our state – one that we must support in these tough economic times.”
ABC is a national trade association representing over 23,000 contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and professional firms from across the country and from all specialties in the commercial construction industry. ABC is committed to developing a safe workplace and a high-performing workforce through quality education and training with comprehensive safety and health programs.
Stout stated, “Congressman Putnam has stood as an unwavering supporter of our industry, fully aware of the role our members play in Florida’s economic landscape. It is clear he recognizes the importance of training for high skill and high wage jobs in any economy, especially one searching for a foothold toward recovery.”
Adam Putnam is a Polk County citrus grower and cattleman who has represented the Twelfth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2001. He also served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 2000. Adam resides in his hometown of Bartow with his wife Melissa and their four children.
