Putnam Dominates Ag Commissioner Fundraising

The race to become Florida’s next agriculture and consumer services commissioner continues to be rather lopsided, at least when it comes to raising campaign contributions.

Republican Adam Putnam raised just shy of $400,000 in the most recent quarter ended March 31, according to campaign finance documents. That’s 74 percent of all the money raised by all candidates for that office for the first quarter of 2010. His fund-raising total now stands at $1.9 million for the November election. Putnam currently represents Florida’s 12th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, and has been a rising star in Republican ranks.
