Independence Day Reflection
July 1, 2010

This weekend, as we celebrate Independence Day with parties, barbecues and travels with family and friends, it is important to pause and remember why this day holds such great importance.

Since America’s birth on July 4, 1776, we have enjoyed the blessings of freedom and liberty granted to us in the U.S. Constitution. The freedom to work, grow, worship, change, dream and choose. We live in the greatest country in the world and it is truly an honor to say, “I am an American.”

The Fourth of July is an opportunity for us to show gratitude for our continued health, happiness and security. While you celebrate the many privileges with which we’ve been blessed as citizens of the United States of America, reflect upon those Americans who continue to risk their lives in defense of this great country. It is their dedication and selflessness that allow for the continuation of the freedoms we share.

To you, your family and friends, Happy Fourth of July. May God continue to bless America.
