Putnam adds more Republican support for Commissioner of Agriculture
BARTOW, Fla. – With widespread support from across Florida, Congressman Adam Putnam’s campaign has announced an increasing list of endorsements from some of Florida’s most experienced Republican leaders. Former RPOF chairs Tom Slade and Carole Jean Jordan, along with current National Committeeman Paul Senft, have officially endorsed Congressman Putnam for Commissioner of Agriculture 2010.
“Adam is the future of the Republican Party and is more than qualified to be our next Commissioner of Agriculture,” said Slade. “Tallahassee needs his leadership and conservative ideals as we move out of tough economic times.”
Slade led the Republican Party from 1993 to 1999 and is a former State Senator and Representative from Duval County. Jordan was at the party’s helm from 2003 to 2007 and is the current Tax Collector for Indian River County. Senft, is a current member of the Southwest Florida Water Management District, former Polk County Commissioner and has served as Florida’s National Committeeman since 2004. All three have strongly contributed to the ideals of the Republican Party and the state of Florida.
“Adam Putnam has made a career out of standing up for his fellow Floridians and fellow Americans,” Jordan said. “His strong character, clear vision and unmatchable experience will allow him to serve as an outstanding Commissioner of Agriculture. Adam makes me optimistic about our state’s future.”
“I have had the privilege of witnessing the positive impact these three individuals have made for our state and nation. It is an honor to have their endorsement and I will continue to seek their guidance as we all work together for a better Florida,” Putnam said.
Adam has been endorsed by every major agriculture organization that endorses in campaigns including the Florida Nursery Growers & Landscape Association, Southeast Milk, Inc., Indian River Citrus League, Florida Citrus Mutual and 16 County Farm Bureaus. In addition, Adam is endorsed by 27 members of the Agriculture Hall of Fame and Women of the Year in Agriculture award recipients.
Adam Putnam is a fifth generation Floridian who was born and raised in Bartow and has represented the Twelfth Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives since January 2001. The Twelfth District includes most of Polk County and portions of Hillsborough and Osceola Counties; he was first elected in 2000 and re-elected subsequently. Adam resides in his hometown of Bartow with his wife Melissa and their four children.
