Putnam adds more Republican support to campaign
BARTOW, Fla. – Twenty-seven members of the Florida House of Representatives have endorsed Adam Putnam to be Florida’s next Commissioner of Agriculture, the campaign announced today. These leaders are in addition to the already overwhelming Republican support for his candidacy.
“Florida needs leaders who have a vision for where Florida needs to go and a passion to help get us there,” said Speaker-Designate Dean Cannon. “We need Adam’s leadership in Tallahassee as we navigate our way out of these troubling economic times and we have in him a leader for Florida’s second largest economic engine.”
“In the coming years Florida will face many challenges and we need to elect leaders with a true moral compass to help us navigate the storm,” said Rep. Will Weatherford. “Adam Putnam has the strength of character and values that make our country great and is the type of leader Florida needs.”
“Florida agriculture is a pillar of our state’s economy and it’s important that our Commissioner of Agriculture is not only a strong leader but also has real experience and a background in the agriculture industry,” said Chairwoman Trudi Williams, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Committee.
“Adam’s a tested conservative, a proven leader and a visionary statesman,” said Rep. Seth McKeel. “He’s a public servant we are all proud to support.”
“Florida is fortunate to have citizen legislators who understand the realities of running a business, living with the laws they pass, and most importantly, living within our means as a state. I’m honored to have their support and look forward to working with them to create new jobs, bring back many of the jobs we’ve lost and get Florida moving again,” said Congressman Putnam. “As Commissioner I will stand shoulder to shoulder with our legislative leaders to fight policies that threaten our pro business climate and to tirelessly promote Florida grown and manufactured products.”
