I am both pleased and honored to announce the Florida Forestry Association’s decision to officially endorse me as its 2010 candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture.
The Florida Forestry Association represents one of Florida’s largest agricultural industries, contributing more than $16.6 billion to Florida’s economy annually and creating over 130,000 jobs. Florida forests also cover more than 16 million acres – nearly half of Florida’s landmass. With its continued stewardship, both producers and consumers continue to be served by this important and useful agricultural commodity.
The Florida Forestry Association and I share a vision for the sustainability and growth of Florida’s forests as a key element of trade partnerships, economic development, renewable energy, environmental protection and more. I look forward to a strong partnership with our forestry stewards as we continue the homegrown jobs created by sustainable forests.
