Putnam receives support from top tier Republicans

BARTOW – The leaders of three prestigious Florida Republican groups have given their official endorsement of Congressman Adam Putnam for Commissioner of Agriculture 2010. The announcement was made at the Golden Triangle Republican Women’s Network luncheon in Mount Dora. Linda Ivell, President of the Florida Federation of Republican Women, Brian Graham, Chairman of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans and Jacob Engels, Chairman of the Florida Federation of Teen Age Republicans, support Putnam’s efforts and will stand beside him in his campaign to become Florida’s next Commissioner of Agriculture.

“Adam Putnam is the sound, conservative voice that Floridians need leading the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and our state. His service as Commissioner will bring an innovative and fresh approach to Florida’s Cabinet and ensure that the best interest of all Floridians is represented,” said Linda Ivell, President of the Florida Federation of Republican Women.

The Florida Federation of Republican Women, the Florida Federation of Young Republicans and the Florida Federation of Teen Age Republicans, represent a large and diverse landscape of Florida voters. The endorsement of these political leaders joins a growing list of endorsements including sixteen county Farm Bureaus, the Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association, Southeast Milk Inc., Florida Citrus Mutual and many more.

“When I think of leadership for our state that is reliable and proven, I think of Adam Putnam. His solid, conservative record in the Florida House and U.S. Congress helped to move Florida in the right direction. Adam’s experience and level-headed decision making will ensure that Florida continues to prosper,” said Brian Graham, President of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans.

“It is a sincere honor to accept the endorsement of these three Republican leaders in our state. Each of them, along with their respective organizations, put in countless hours of hard work to guarantee that democracy continues to reign in our state. All Floridians benefit from their tireless efforts and I appreciate their dedication. I am especially proud of the multiple generations of Florida leaders committed to this campaign. Our vision for Florida’s future is resonating with those who will be here to inherit the legacy of today’s decisions.”

Adam Putnam is a Polk County citrus grower and cattleman who has represented the Twelfth Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives since January 2001. He also served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 2000.
