Bartow, Fla. – Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) has announced its official endorsement of Congressman Adam Putnam for Commissioner of Agriculture 2010. AIF is a voluntary association of diversified businesses created to foster an economic climate for the growth, development and welfare of Florida’s industry, businesses and people.
“From his time in the Florida Legislature to his work on Capitol Hill, Congressman Putnam has been an advocate for our state’s business community and an ally to AIF. He consistently votes in favor of the private enterprise system that is the heart and soul of America and Florida,” said Barney T. Bishop III, President and CEO of Associated Industries of Florida. “A careful listener, he understands the need for a vibrant IP Economy – both today and tomorrow – and is committed to putting people back to work through innovative economic development programs. His philosophies on education, taxation, and the environment are in sync with business owners who feel the need for a careful balance as we emerge from this Great Recession.”
AIF has represented the principles of prosperity and free enterprise in state government since 1920. AIF is not-for-profit association owned by its members, which are located in every corner of the state and represent all segments of Florida’s private sector.
“I am pleased to be supported by Associated Industries of Florida PAC and the business community. As a farmer and rancher I know the challenges Florida faces in emerging from these tough times. I’m committed to leading a focused, efficient Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for the benefit of all Floridians and putting my experiences in agriculture and public policy to work on Florida’s Cabinet to create a magnet for job creation, research and development, and retaining our existing industries,” Putnam said.
