Adam Putnam Qualifies for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture
June 16, 2010

Dear Friends,

It is with great honor and appreciation that I announce I have officially qualified to run for Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2010. For the past 16 months, we have crisscrossed the state touring farms and fairs, condos and high rises, and just last weekend we embarked on our first bus tour.  I have given countless speeches to anyone who would listen about my passion and vision for Florida and its future.

However, without you, this endeavor would not be a reality. Your continued efforts have brought this campaign to every corner of the state and allowed us to reach individuals who may not have previously been aware of the vital role the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services plays in the lives of all Floridians.

Because of your hard work, we have received endorsements from a variety of organizations and individuals who further validate the mission we have set to achieve.  Below is a recap of the many organizations that have officially endorsed our campaign for the general election on November 2.

  • The Police Benevolent Association
  • Florida Professional Firefighters’ Association
  • Associated Industries of Florida
  • Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc.
  • Florida Nursery Growers & Landscapers Association
  • Florida Dairy Products Association
  • Florida Citrus Processors Association
  • Florida Citrus Mutual
  • Southeast Milk, Inc.
  • Indian River Citrus League
  • Florida Forestry Association

Today, we are also proud to announce that 37 Sheriffs endorsed our campaign and joined the Putnam Team.  This is more sheriffs than any other statewide candidate and I am humbled by their trust.  This is yet another example of how our efforts are not only about bringing notoriety to this campaign but also the office of Commissioner of Agriculture itself.

Our mission is not complete, however. These next four and a half months will be crucial to the campaign’s success. It is imperative that we come together to reach those who have not yet heard our message. In the coming months, outreach and fundraising will be essential and I will continue to call on you to be in places when I can’t make it, to tell your friends and neighbors about our message and continue to spread the word to every voter.

While the end is in sight, we still have a long way to go. You have invested a great deal in this campaign and my family and I thank you for that. However, we must not let the finish line distract us from the journey ahead.

This is the time to amplify our efforts to make every second, minute, hour and day count from now until November 2. Whether it is a letter, phone call, Facebook message, Tweet or conversation, every form of communication is a chance to promote this campaign and I need you to take advantage of these opportunities whenever possible.

As a team, I know we can accomplish what we have set out to achieve – a better and brighter future for Floridians and our great state we call home.

Thank you again for your friendship and continued support!

Sincerely,

Adam
