Putnam receives endorsement from Florida icon
BARTOW, Fla. – Today, Governor Jeb Bush announced his official endorsement of Adam Putnam for Commissioner of Agriculture. Gov. Bush, who led Florida from 1999-2007, believes Putnam represents the conservative principles and ideals that will bring Florida out of the current economic downturn and into a state of prosperity, once again.
“Adam Putnam’s beliefs and values represent the very best of Florida’s future. He will always work for Florida’s broadest interests and that’s critical in this time when we need to restore economic growth and move Florida forward,” Gov. Bush said.
As Governor, Bush served as a member of Florida’s Cabinet and understands the importance of having a strong, experienced voice for agriculture on the state’s most influential board of directors.
“Adam Putnam is a true conservative. He believes in limited government, personal responsibility and has a positive vision for Florida’s future,” Gov. Bush said.
“It is an honor to earn the endorsement of Gov. Jeb Bush. Gov. Bush is a shining example of the positive outcomes that result from principled, conservative leadership. His time as Governor brought greater efficiency in the public sector and greater prosperity in the private sector and I look to his leadership model as a guide,” Putnam said.
Adam Putnam is a Polk County citrus grower and cattleman who has represented the Twelfth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2001. He also served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 2000. Adam resides in his hometown of Bartow with his wife Melissa and their four children.
