Putnam campaign for Commissioner of Agriculture picks up steam
BARTOW, Fla. – With increasing momentum from across Florida, Congressman Adam Putnam’s campaign for Commissioner of Agriculture announced it has raised an additional $280K in the first quarter of 2010. The campaign also announced it has nearly $1.2 million cash on hand.
“I am encouraged by the amount of support our campaign has received, especially in light of the economic situation Florida faces, and I’m grateful so many Floridians support our efforts,” Putnam said. “Small businesses, farmers, ranchers and all citizens see that the stakes have seldom been higher in fighting for our nation’s future. They are fully engaged in bringing strong leadership to Florida’s Cabinet. Florida faces serious challenges in the years ahead and I’m the candidate seeking this office who knows that home grown food equals home grown jobs. We must work vigilantly to ensure that agriculture, Florida’s second largest industry, continues to thrive, while creating a better business climate for all industries.”
Adam Putnam is a Polk County citrus grower and cattleman who has represented the Twelfth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2001. He also served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 2000. Adam resides in his hometown of Bartow with his wife Melissa and their four children.
